Southeastern Conn. school officials brainstorming regional opportunities
Norwich, Conn. — Southeastern Connecticut school officials and board of education members met Saturday morning in Norwich to continue brainstorming regional opportunities for saving money and to prepare to work with legislators on breaking down impediments to these solutions.

After a decade living on a Connecticut vineyard, managing its tasting room and marketing its wines, Rachel Edwards has come to appreciate the local farms who work just as hard at marketing the foods they grow. Mashantucket - In terms of its energy needs, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation - its casinos, museum and everything else on its reservation - could become an island unto itself in a few years. A big "green" island. Or maybe "light green."
